Are you tired of the bright loading screens in Genshin Impact?

This guide will walk you through the process of applying some dark mode mods to Genshin Impact.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, make sure you have the following:

  1. A PC running Windows (this guide is tailored for Windows users).
  2. Genshin Impact installed on your system.
  3. 7-Zip or similar software to extract the downloaded files.

Step 1: Download the Required Files

1. Download GIMI (Genshin-Impact-Model-Importer)

  • Go to the GIMI GitHub releases page.

  • Download the file named 3dmigoto-GIMI-for-playing-mods.zip

    This version is optimized for playing mods and is faster than the development version.

2. Download GI_LoadscreenRandomizer

3. Download the Dark Loading Screen Mod

  • Head over to GameBanana.
  • Download the file named gi_loadingscreen_163fc_dark_edit.rar

Step 2: Extract the Files

  1. Extract all the downloaded archives using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
    • Right-click each file and select "Extract Here" or "Extract to [folder name]".
    • Ensure you know where the extracted files are located.

Step 3: Install the Mods

1. Copy the 3DMigoto Folder

  • Open the extracted 3dmigoto-GIMI-for-playing-mods folder.

  • Copy the 3dmigoto folder.

  • Navigate to your Genshin Impact game directory. This is typically located at:

    C:\HoYoPlay\games\Genshin Impact game

    (If your game is installed elsewhere, adjust the path accordingly.)

  • Paste the 3dmigoto folder into the Genshin Impact game directory.

2. Set Up GI_LoadscreenRandomizer

  • Open the extracted GI_LoadingScreen folder.

  • Copy the entire GI_LoadingScreen folder.

  • Navigate to:

    C:\HoYoPlay\games\Genshin Impact game\3dmigoto\Mods

  • Paste the GI_LoadingScreen folder here.

3. Install the Dark Loading Screen Mod

  • Open the extracted gi_loadingscreen_163fc_dark_edit folder.

  • Copy the dcf5ad8be031c5fc-ps_replace.txt file.

  • Navigate to:

    C:\HoYoPlay\games\Genshin Impact game\3dmigoto\ShaderFixes

  • Paste the file here. If prompted to overwrite, confirm.

  • Delete the existing file named 653c63ba4a73ca8b-vs_replace.txt in the same folder.

4. Move the Dark Loading Screen Assets

  • Open the gi_loadingscreen_163fc_dark_edit folder again.

  • Select all the files and folders inside.

  • Navigate to:

    C:\HoYoPlay\games\Genshin Impact game\3dmigoto\Mods\GI_LoadingScreen

  • Paste the files here. Overwrite any existing files if prompted.

Step 4: Launch the Game

  1. Navigate to your Genshin Impact game directory:

    C:\HoYoPlay\games\Genshin Impact game

  2. Double-click 3DMigoto Loader.exe to launch the mod loader.

  3. Once the loader is running, launch Genshin Impact as you normally would.

Optional: Prepacked Install

If you want to skip the manual steps, you can download a prepacked version of 3dmigoto that already includes all the mod configurations from the Genshin Impact Dark Mode repository.

Simply download and extract the prepacked 3dmigoto.zip into your Genshin Impact game directory and follow the launch instructions above.
